Neoliberalism seems so quaint now. Like I think we’ve moved out of it, at least temporarily. It was a subtle economic order, notoriously hard to define and thus harder to argue against. It was quietly totalitarian.

Toll the Hounds was crazy good, best book in the series (so far). Is Anomander Rake the most glazed man of all time? yes, but he deserves it.
breakout stars of the book was ofc Nimander and the gang. A complex relation filled with doubts, and to see those doubts contested was heartening reading.

There’s a strange attitude one can have towards the written word, where if you mention something from a book, share an authors idea, the listener discards what you say and suddenly demands your own thought. Not out of curiosity, but a rejection of the idea that someone can share an idea of value

Been really enjoying this single player climbing game called peaks of yore. Getting to the end levels which are inducing a strong tension in that a mistake now costs 20-30 minutes. Not built for Bennett foddy game I’m afraid

Reapers Gale was very good, with its cast and focus it couldnt not be. However i think it stumbled, i think the awl/drene plotline was massively underdeveloped yet also had little to do with the rest. Like Redmask/the Awl wars are a cool idea but they couldn't shine in this book
