speaking of Call the Midwife, they use forceps in some of their deliveries. and i might not have known right away if i hadn't seen it. but i saw some old forceps in an antique shop recently, and they look even more like torture devices in real life.

screenshot of my insta caption, saying: "itscaitfr hey guys, wild update. i got a call from my old district manager (he goes by CHIP when his name is literally Harold) from the sub shop, and he said he needed to talk to me before i potentially came back to work there. i know i just got this pizza job but maybe a backup plan would be okay, yknow? or so i thought. this man said that he and my old manager, Megan, had discussed things i should work on if i went back, and the first thing was that he didn't want Oli going to work with me anymore. i agreed to it so i could hear what else he had to say. i knew he didn't love it that Oli was there but also i was under the impression that Megan didn't mind. she even gave him little jobs to do sometimes, and never seemed to have an issue with him being there. i know bringing your boyfriend to work with you is weird, but why would he fly 3,000 miles just to sit at home all day? obviously if i worked in an office or something i wouldn't bring him, but him being at the sub joint is no different than a customer sitting in there all day. customers have done that and we had to deal, but it's a problem because Oli's my boyfriend? okay." continued: "Chip also said i had to be more productive and clean more in downtime i he made it sound like i spent all seven years of my time working there glued to my phone, which i vastly did not. i busted my ass at that fuck ass place and never used my phone any more than Megan did. she uses her phone at work the most out of literally everyone so i really don't know where tf that's coming from. the last point, which had me APPALLED, was that he told me i had to "be a leader and not a follower." he told me to train people. he told me to not go on my phone just because someone else is on theirs. first of all, is me being a follower even in the room with us? anyone who spends 4 seconds around me knows that i'm unapologetically myself and i don't do things based on what other people are doing. secondly, i've trained everyone who's set foot in that disgusting ass place, obviously anyone who needed training or help got it from me. so literally what the fuck are you even talking about. love u bye take no shit today"

Just now i had such a touching moment just now, in a way i'd never expect. i had to go to the post office, and on my way out, i spotted a bumblebee on the ground. not dead, just resting i suppose. he crawled on my hand and all the way around my shoulders at first, until i realized i couldn't just drive with him on me. so i put him in my glasses case to keep him safe, and drove to dunkin. at first, the dunkin worker seemed completely caught off guard by me asking for sugar water. but he agreed to make some, and when i got to the window he even gave it to me for free. so here i sit, in a nearby walmart parking lot, holding my bee as he rests. seeing him drink the water and crawl around excitedly was one of the purest things i've ever seen. my heart is so full, knowing i helped him. he can snooze in the palm of my hand for as long as he'd like.
