House just gaveled in for a pro forma session. Dems again tried to get Rep-elect Adelita Grijalva sworn in. They were ignored by the chair. And House gaveled out. Took about 2 mins.

A good point here. It's important to remember Nat Guard troops didn't sign up for this sort of deployment. They are entirely different from new ICE recruits.

House gaveled in for a pro forma session. Rules Chair Virginia Foxx has the gavel. Prayer, Journal approved. Pledge. Dem Rep Jim McGovern not recognized. Foxx does not recognize him(trying to get dem-elect sworn in). “Is this continuation of the Epstein coverup?” he asks. House gavels out.

Johnson says they want to pass 12 separate apropos bill, but stands by his decision to keep his chamber out.

They could be here working on those bills, but Johnson says the Senate needs to reopen government.

Johnson says the CR passed the House with bipartisan support. Reminder: 1 Democrat voted for it (although it looked like 1 other D was going to vote Yes but the vote closed), 2 Republicans voted against it.
