My comment: The "roadless rule" originally received the largest number of supportive public comments ever! The American people want our national forests and wilderness protected for our generation and future generations. Our national forests and wilderness areas are the envy of the world. They are the model for protecting public use land in other countries. Once these areas have been opened to commercial use, there is no going back. It is the duty of our generation to protect what was passed down to us and to preserve it for our children and grandchildren. The argument that this is improved forest management is a lie. This is greed and accommodation to campaign donors and lobbyists. These lands belong to the American people, and we love and use them. A New York City real estate developer who rabidly avoids contact with nature should not be selling off what belongs to all of us. Thank you.

“There is nobody in this country who got rich on his own. Nobody. You built a factory out there — good for you. “But I want to be clear. You moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for. You hired workers the rest of us paid to educate. You were safe in your factory because of police forces and fire forces that the rest of us paid for. You didn't have to worry that marauding bands would come and seize everything at your factory... Now look. You built a factory and it turned into something terrific or a great idea - God bless! Keep a hunk of it. But part of the underlying social contract is you take a hunk of that and pay forward for the next kid who comes along.

The body was clear plastic so the colorful gears inside were visible. There were two large, clear plastic wheels with a small, black rubber wheel at the back. Attached to the body were two bright red arms that moved up and down, and two bright red legs. The face was the same red plastic, decorated with a silver screw for a nose, silver brads for eyes, and silver gears for ears. He wore a red plastic Lincoln-style stovepipe hat. The name "Mr. Machine" was stamped in white caps on the hat.
