Got another good hive from an oak tree that had a big branch snap on some peoples’ property. It took me 3 trips but eventually I found the queen. Did a forced abscond. Just got them situated. The bees on the lid have now found their new entrance! I’m happy about it.

Big turnout at the No Kings protest in Austin. I can’t even get close to the crowd to get a legit picture.

Went to pick up bees from a removal I did yesterday. Spent about 3 hours looking for the queen, and couldn’t find her. I heard her tooting, and searched and searched. So hopefully she’s in the box because they’re a really nice hive. 😑

Bees from yesterday are now fed and acclimating to their new home. In a couple weeks I’ll take the excluder off and give them a better entrance reducer. Sorry, I am a bit overzealous with this today.

There’s a sight for sore bones! Taking the newly acquired hive from the removal yesterday to a customer’s bee yard. The bees get rescued. Customer gets free bees. I get to look like a nice person. Everyone’s happy.

Did my first cut-out in at least a year. Got the queen wrangled into a queen clip, and the hive was marching in when I left. Picking it up mañana. It was a mess! Nice hive, though a little aggressive.

Had a visitor today while doing some hive management. I didn’t know mantises came in tech camo! She tried pretending she was a leaf or stick in the breeze. She took me for a fool!
