Chasing adventure in anyway I can find it. Hiking, travel, films and football. Political too!

Stockport, UK
Stockport trailing 0-2 at St Andrew’s… it’s alright though it appears there is an AC/DC concert happening at half time. Load of shite 😂 #StockportCounty

Yeah this is related to what I was getting at on the blog the other day. The amount of dysfunction and waste that's been created by turning the NHS into a false assurance machine suggests there must be scope to improve things without more cash.

Alongside "who built Hadrian's wall?", another great example of knowledge falling foul of 'common understanding' is scurvy.

The Royal Navy discovered the cure for scurvy, won the Napoleonic War, humanity then lost that knowledge without realising, then got saved by two Norwegian guinea pigs 🧵 /1

Catbells > Maiden Moor > High Spy.

First time up Catbells - followed a circular route starting at the base of Catbells before following the ridge up to Maiden Moor and High Sky.

A good route with some minor scrambling. Mostly pooch friendly, albeit for the sheep.

Old mining tunnel was cool!
