I was convinced this was a bogus post.
The Orioles and catcher Samuel Basallo are closing in on an eight-year contract extension worth $67 million with an option for 2034, per source.

Escalators based on awards and playing time at catcher max out at $88.5 million, source said

Welcome to Camden Yards, Samuel. #orioles

Laughing at all the Orioles fans that mocked Elias for using the Bryan Baker pick to draft a guy with a commitment to Vanderbilt as if he didn't know the guy was signable.

Welcome to Birdland, Lil Slayyy...

Tough loss. Three takeaways:

-Rogers is as hot as an Oriole starter has been in yrs.
-O'Neill looks lost. Don't know how to fix him, but I'd rather Mayo/Urias got those ABs.
-Blewett => DFA. This was winnable til the 9th. Scored on in 7x of 9 gms. Shouldn't have been in there.

The Orioles just won more games in 36 hours than they did in 18 days ( May 3-20). They looked confident. Kremer in command. Cano in 2023 form. The offense was relentless, even without a HR.

This is a different team.

Wow. This guy could end up being pretty good…
Lionel Messi is the first MLS player to score multiple times in four consecutive regular-season games ‼️

I liked Baker. Wish he was still here. But that 37th pick is nothing to sneeze at. I get why you do the deal. Gunnar, Westy, Norby, and Beavers all came from comparable picks. Kit + Dominguez + maybe Wells in August=good depth at RH setup. #Orioles

Imagine if this Trevor Rodgers that showed up last season. Orioles might’ve won the division.

Whatever. I love that he’s here now.

I love O’Hearn, but I’ve gotta believe there is no way he makes it past the trade deadline as an Oriole. Time to see what Mayo can do, Mounty will be back, and Basallo is probably eventually going to get ABs at 1st base in ‘26.

Not making this up: I had to head out to dinner right after the Lowe 3-run HR. The only thing that kept me optimistic was the Rays did it to the Orioles last week. But that couldn’t happen twice in 2 wks, could it? Especially in the other direction…

Watched it all after I got home. Awesome.

Why have there been so many plays at home plate in two of the last three Orioles games? Both losses could’ve been wins if the Orioles execute on any of those plays.

I miss Adley.

All offseason, I kept saying "Don't sleep on Trevor Rogers. I think he could surprise." Then he started the yr on the DL & I thought I might be wrong. The Red Sox start got me excited, the Rays start killed that excitement, and now I am back on the bandwagon.

Start of the year. #orioles

I’ve heard multiple people, including Buck today, mention that “every team gets injured players”.

The Yankees starting lineup today was BETTER than opening day (Stanton). Orioles were missing Adley, Westy, Mounty, & O’Neill. 2 weeks ago, Ced and Cowser were out as well.

No, this is not normal.

Four runs given up, three were contested plays at the plate. Orioles should've gotten all three outs and didn't get any. Two drops (not that Handley could be blamed) and a bad throw. That's frustrating. This game is completely different if you execute.

The entire road trip turned on that bottom of the 8th. Orioles were perfectly set up for success with Baker on the mound and Felix in the wings. Probably wouldn’t have to see Judge again. Go home with a 4-3 road trip against the top of the AL East. Baker just didn’t have it.

Schmidt was so good that it didn't make a difference if Eflin had pitched a gem.

Eflin was so bad that it didn't make a difference that the Orioles offense was anemic.

It's just one loss. Get it tomorrow. #Orioles

The opener.

On the road.

In Yankee Stadium.

Against the best AL lefty not named Tariq Skubal in Max Fried.

With the B team lineup.

Two days removed from a legendarily painful loss.

To “Buck Showalter, “I like our guys“.

Don’t look now, but the Orioles have just won five straight starts by Charlie Morton.
June 20, 2025 at 3:38 AM
The Orioles just took on the hottest team in baseball, coming off a road sweep of the Mets, and split. Yes, yesterday sucked, but walking out of here with a split against a team that good--including beating Rasmussen today was no small feat.

Mooooo...

Looking forward to a Cowser, Mullins, and O’Neill OF again.
Per Statcast, a 90% catch probability here for #Orioles right fielder Heston Kjerstad on this leadoff double by Mariners' J.P. Crawford in the bottom of the 5th inning:

Orioles keep winning, even though the bats still haven’t quite heated up.

Just hoping in the mood in the clubhouse reflects the recent stretch and not the standings. Keep chipping away and anything can happen.

Winning puts me in a good mooooood. #Orioles #Milkman

In an increasingly depressing season for the Orioles, I think I stand alone in believing that this roster is much better than it looks. I don’t know if it’ll be soon enough to contend, but I do think they’re gonna figure it out and I do think a number of teams on the other end are going to pay.
May 21, 2025 at 12:14 AM
After a loss like last night, which was unlike any Orioles loss I’ve ever seen, it seems Hyde’s firing was inevitable. Most of the AL East is struggling as well so this season may still be salvageable. Let’s hope this wakes everyone up.

I wish Corbin Burnes all the best, but I think we need to remember that the last two free agent contracts that gave $35M a year were Stephen Strasburg and Anthony Rendon, the only two contracts as disastrous as Chris Davis—the last guy the Orioles overpaid for…
