I am deeply grateful to Ruby’s Fund for making this work possible. This project has been a fantastic opportunity, highly motivating, and an invaluable learning experience. Live kindly, live loudly 💛

I developed a way to silence regions of a super-enhancer that activates cancer-causing genes — a tool now ready for future projects. Early results are encouraging, showing that we can affect how much the cancer-causing gene is switched on.

Last week marked the end of my project on T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, funded by Ruby's fund.
Over the past two years, I worked to understand the role of super-enhancers in this disease.

Thrilled to begin a new journey as a research technician on a @cancerresearchuk.org (CRUK) funded project in Dr Lisa Russell’s group! Together with Dr Nicholas Brittain, I’ll be exploring how super-enhancers contribute to leukaemia cell survival to deepen understanding of the disease.

Recent nice weather called for a social outing of the LEGEND group, filled with fun, sport and a MUST stop for ice cream by the coast 🍦. We also had our first lab retreat at Cockle Park, featuring good scientific discussion 🧬 and a
visit by our @ukri.org MRC collaborators from Edinburgh ✨
Deserved rest after an exciting volleyball tournament Ice-cream is the best way to end a great social outing with the lab The group got bigger! We count, from the left: Camille (Research Technician), Ahmed (PhD student), Leti (PostDoc), Lisa (Group Leader), Ahlam (PostDoc), Nick (PostDoc) and Phoebe (PhD student) MRC collaborators from Edinburgh, Chris A.Brackley (left) and Rodrigo Rivas Barbosa (right)
