Who's going to tell the aviation industry?

Claims we can expand aviation massively and still avoid climate breakdown are based on carbon offsetting.* Which as people have been pointing out for decades, doesn't work.

DCJ members and allies are on the ground in Manila where the FRLD board meeting is taking place and the Fund’s Resource Mobilization Strategy will be decided. We demand rich countries #FillTheFund adequately and NOW! @canclimateaction.bsky.social @fillthefund.bsky.social @aausa.bsky.social

The Fund for Responding to Loss and Damage (FRLD) was a big win for the Global South at climate negotiations.

But promised funding would cover just 1% of the damages of a major disaster like the 2022 Pakistan floods.

And less than 2% of the profits of one single oil company (Shell).

$1.2 TRILLION for military budget, only $348M for Loss & Damage? This is the theft of climate justice. Loss & Damage exists because of decades of inaction by the richest govts.

We fought for the FRLD. We won’t let it be an empty promise. Global North #PayUp & #FillTheFund now!

Perhaps this is what happens when you concentrate on fossil fuels in a fascist state that abolishes all basic safety rules.

Reportedly, Starmer's aides told him not to attend COP30 because Reform UK might criticise him (seriously!)

Tell your MP to join those who have already urged the PM to show leadership and attend the crucial climate summit.

Looking for just one Conservative MP willing to say 'this is a mistake' and demand that at the very least Badenoch comes forward with a vaguely credible alternative plan.

This article is an excellent explanation of why it's so important for Starmer to be at COP30.

You can take action by telling your MP to add their voice to those urging him to get a backbone and go to the summit: actionnetwork.org/letters/mp-l...
