This essay was very, uh, Not Nice™ about Beyond ngl & posits it as the absolute worst portrayal of Uhura where she does nothing but martyrs herself & fetches Spock a drink & they ARE kind of right is the thing but ouch

This one has a bunch of nonfiction Trek book including "Open a Channel", "the Metaphysics of Star Trek" and a couple books on the dawn of fanfiction and fan conventions, and then a bunch of mass market paperback novels all from tng, ds9, or Voyager, action figures of Saavik, Kirk, and Spock from Wrath of Khan, and then a little altar I've got featuring a candle, glass of offered water, and card from the TOS tarot deck (page of rods featuring the episode "Charlie X") A picture of one of my bookshelves. This one features all Trek novels ranging from a set with the autobiographies of Kirk, Picard, and Janeway, to novelizations of 2009 and Into Darkness, to "the Lost Years" and "Black Fire" and that horribly bad book "the Prometheus Design". There is also the entire bridge crew from Beyond rendered lovingly in Funko form Picture of one of my bookshelves with a handful of Trek novels on it including "Killing Time" and "Spock's World" and "Mosaic". There is also a Weyoun action figure and Spock shaped like a cupcake A picture of one of my book shelves featuring a handful of mass market paperback Trek novels including the absolute masterpiece "the Pandora Principle", and a handful of tng and Voyager novels. There is also 3 Burger King toys from 2009 of Scotty, Kirk, and Spock

The first essay in this book is about how Nero is a trickster figure within the mythic framework of Trek & this is the shit that makes me so fucking hard. I love this shit!!! I love it!!

I just barely started reading "the Kelvin Timeline of Star Trek: Essays on JJ Abrams' Final Frontier" & I'm already rubbing my fly hands together over how good this shit is
