It’s election day, Canada! May each one of us realize the breadth of our collective voices and use our liberty to vote. As Jack Layton said, love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And we’ll change the world.

Two grassroots politicians who believed wholeheartedly in the people they served and who had a fire in them to make life better for those people.
On my last night as MP, I thank Jack Layton for inspiring me to run for public office.
Jack made me believe it was possible to do politics with integrity. He loved our country and he loved people.
