Town Council of Bancroft had proclaimed September 21, 2025 as Peace Day in the Town of Bancroft. WHEREAS today we recognize the importance of achieving a global culture of peace.
Today, we highlight the importance of speaking up against violence, hatred, discrimination and inequality, while sharing messages that promote hope, respect and understanding and encourage us to embrace our diversity. We also remember the fundamental values that can lay the foundation for a more just and harmonious society for all.
We are stronger when we work together to make Toronto a city where everyone feels welcomed and valued.
NOW THEREFORE, I, Mayor Olivia Chow, on behalf of Toronto City Council, do hereby proclaim September 21, 2025 as "International Day of Peace" in the City of Toronto.
