The Fair Elections Program is a critical tool we have that levels the playing field in favor of democracy in DC. I am happy to participate in the program and focus on DC residents to bring the change we want to see on the Council.

This outcome fortifies our local democracy and keeps the will of the people in place. As a candidate, I’m happy to move forward with RCV.
NEWS: The D.C. Council has rejected a bill that would have delayed the rollout of ranked-choice voting next year, both for the June primary and November general. RCV is now a go.

Only votes for the bill came from Bonds, Felder, McDuffie, Mendelson, and Trayon White.

DC residents pay the highest taxes per capita in the nation, yet we remain beholden to federal control in ways our neighboring states do not.

Our limited autonomy continues to face attacks from Congress, the courts, and from those who seek to stop our local governance.

On the last day of American Education Week, we celebrate individuals who are making a difference in ensuring that every child receives a quality public education. In DC, we have a vast education system with leaders working from different angles to address disparities.

Quality, affordable housing is a human right.

I believe every DC resident deserves to be able to stay rooted in their community. As rent drastically increases and homeownership becomes increasingly out of reach, we must protect residents from bad actors and negligent landlords.

With new leadership, this is also possible in DC!

These are the types of actions I will lead on the Council to stabilize neighborhoods, reduce income rent burdens, and further protect tenants.
