Dread going into town this time of year. But so far so good. Good assistance from #Starbucks staff as always and lovely lady with a buggy told me she was leaving so I could have a good spot in the corner for Mabel to chill with plenty of room. #coffee #christmas #kindness

Finally plucked up the courage to start listening to #ChrisMcCausland book. Really enjoying it & highly recommend it. I love that Chris is reading it & pretty sure there's some AdLib in there too. It's great when you feel like you get something extra as a #blind person instead of missing out😊

Absolutely loved #Strictly this week. Sad to see Alex go but I think that was the right decision. Looking forward to musical week although I wish it was earlier on so we had more musicals!

Agreed. The instant dance had me in stitches. Especially Claudia trying to help with the outfits. And that straight face with that hat😆 to
What a show! I actually enjoyed the Instant Dance more than their planned routines, and the utter mayhem was brilliant television.
See you tomorrow? x

I'm sooooo cross with #McLaren right now. 3 races ago I would have said McLaren still deserve to win. But now? Not the drivers fault though. They did the best they could with what they were given. So still #Lando to win for me🙏🏽

What a lovely day at #SomersetHouse in #London with Ambustum.co.uk and @retinauk.bsky.social Peer Support Group. Lots of #Blind peeps making #Candles. What could possibly go wrong. Nothing as it happens😊 #RetinaUK50

At least it's all in one place ! In our house it's everywhere and yet I can never find it when I want it🤦🏽‍♀️

Photo shows several large reels of tape in a drawer (I think)
Think we might be alright for tape in this house

I get very excited when I see #wildlife out and about. As someone with #LowVision it's a rare thing and can really make my day. Even better if the wildlife sits still long enough for me to be able to get a picture. This squirrel was very patient. It took me ages to find him through my phone! #photo

It's a great feeling when you manage a walk in the park with your #Dog inbetween showers. It's much harder when you have #LowVision and it's rainy, windy, dark or even too sunny, especially this time of the year. Not great for a #photo though so here's one I took earlier in the week. #RetinaUK50

Eye tests are important for everyone, even if you're blind! They do not only see if you need glasses, but pick up other eye conditions, diabetes & tumours. For some the eye test is free and you may even get money towards glasses. What are you waiting for? #RetinaUK50 @retinauk.bsky.social

We can't let this continue. Join us in calling on the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Wes Streeting, to make sure blind and partially sighted people get the support they need, when they need it: rnib.in/OutOfSightPetition 7/7

Thousands of blind and partially sighted people are facing unacceptable delays for vision rehabilitation. I've signed this petition because sight loss doesn't have to put life on pause.

This month, we’re shining a light on husband-and-wife duo Colin and Linda, who run the Isle of Wight Peer Support Group. Colin is also a trustee at Retina UK, and together they’ve organised multiple fundraising events in support of our work.

We’re so grateful for volunteers like Colin and Linda! 💙

Christmas is a difficult time for me for all sorts of reasons. But mostly because every year I forget how hard it is to write cards&wrap presents now. I still imagine I can do it like when I was 20. I forget how long it takes, especially with time wasted playing hunt the tape etc. #RetinaUK50 #Xmas

After a few weeks I've not wanting to go into the front bedroom because of all the work being done there the cats have decided to finally make it there home again. Nothing to do with the weather of course😆 #cats
