Dread going into town this time of year. But so far so good. Good assistance from #Starbucks staff as always and lovely lady with a buggy told me she was leaving so I could have a good spot in the corner for Mabel to chill with plenty of room. #coffee #christmas #kindness

I get very excited when I see #wildlife out and about. As someone with #LowVision it's a rare thing and can really make my day. Even better if the wildlife sits still long enough for me to be able to get a picture. This squirrel was very patient. It took me ages to find him through my phone! #photo

A Tesco lorry parked completely on the pavement A lorry parked off on the pavement, next to 2 wheelie bins next to a car with its front sticking out from the driveway onto the pavement. The pavement is completely blocked. A lorry parked on double yellow lines mostly on the pavement. Although Mabel and I got passed, a mobility scooter, a wheelchair or even a pushchair wouldn't this is a very busy road.

It's a great feeling when you manage a walk in the park with your #Dog inbetween showers. It's much harder when you have #LowVision and it's rainy, windy, dark or even too sunny, especially this time of the year. Not great for a #photo though so here's one I took earlier in the week. #RetinaUK50

Eye tests are important for everyone, even if you're blind! They do not only see if you need glasses, but pick up other eye conditions, diabetes & tumours. For some the eye test is free and you may even get money towards glasses. What are you waiting for? #RetinaUK50 @retinauk.bsky.social

Today @guidedogsuk.bsky.social Mabel and I visited a local residential home. We talked about the 'Bakers Dozen', 'Titch' and #Guidedogs e_scooter campaign. But the residents and staffs favourite bit was meeting Mabel. This is also Mabel's favourite bit😊 #Dogs

This is completely unacceptable. Very busy main road. Double yellow Lines. Pedestrians forced into the road or into the property where there is a pile of debris with nails sticking out! #Maidstone #PavementParking

Although I am registered #blind in the UK, I still have a small tunnel of central vision. This means I can still work out some photos but not all. Many people can't see photos at all. So PLEASE use #AltText to make your photos accessible. #RetinaUK50 #Dogs #Cats #Birds #Photography

Managed to catch the weather just right for our #Sunday free run. Although the sun can be a real problem for me this time of year, it is a lovely reminder of how beautiful the world can be. We need that right now. #RetinaUK50

10 years ago this month the sensory #photography group I belonged to had an exhibition in a local museum. I still use some of the techniques taught today. #Blind people take photos for the same reasons as everyone else. To share their experiences with others. #RetinaUK50 @retinauk.bsky.social

Today #GuideDog Mabel and I are part of a team raising funds for #GuideogsUK at our local #Tesco. Mabel loves saying hi to people but also enjoys having a break at the #Costa there. Lovely lady gave Mabel a bowl of water and brought my coffee to me. Little acts of kindness make such a difference❤️

For some reason there are often cars parked completely on the pavement here. My #GuideDog is forced to choose between taking me over the uneven and potentially slippery grass verge or into the road. We usually choose the road. We shouldn't have to make this choice. #RetinaUK50 #RoadSafety

Had a lovely couple of days in #Farnham with my children. So many places #dog friendly including our hotel. Made life a lot easier for #Guidedog Mabel and I. Allowed us more #family time too. #RetinaUK50

Took this #photo of a #swan two years ago on the way to the local cinema. Love the reflection. #wildlife
