Well, the US was doing a lot of what it's doing under Trump BEFORE Trump. It was just doing it to "the poors".
There wasn't a lot of "we should boycot conferences in the US" until people got nervous THEY might have trouble at the border.

Corporations own the politicians. Corporate money is so deeply entrenched in US politics it should be called a business instead of a country.
Which is why our whole damn country boycotted US businesses in response to the actions of the government.

Most of the stuff happening under Trump was happening BEFORE Trump. He just brought a whole new layer of flagrant corruption + tariffs to the table.
