It’s kind of a wild thing that had David Jiricek not been a bust and remained a Jacket, a substantial portion of the Jackets problems would be solved.

This is a deep draft year and the Jackets need to get as many picks in the first and second rounds as they can. They desperately need to restock the prospect pipeline.

At this point, if the Jackets can get a second round pick for him, do it and move on. And if they can make it a higher potential pick, i.e. San Jose’s, that might allow them to trade up into the late first at the draft, all the better.
The #SJSharks own the final wild card spot in the west. If they stay there, rewarding the players' success with a small buy at the deadline could be exactly what they need. #CBJ's Yegor Chinakhov might be that guy. Read more on Sharks Hockey Digest.

Bowl games could look a lot different in the near future depending on what the market wants.

In a just world, the Group of Five should cut a deal to turn the Bowl system into their unofficial championship and cut out the Power 5 entirely. But this can’t happen because the bowls won’t believe this can draw enough eyeballs.

How often do you see a team sending down a player they acquired in a trade to bring up the player they sent away in that trade?

Looking at recent drafts, it doesn’t look good. We made a huge reach with a first round pick on Chinakhov. Me made an even bigger risk last summer with a goaltender. This team doesn’t have any near term solutions to its problems. If this becomes a rebuild, it’s a long process.

This guy is the one guy in the sports “expert” landscape who really does seem to “get it” as opposed to the loudmouth contrarians trying to get attention. If Cleveland, Chicago and KC all get domes, which of those 3 would actually get the Super Bowl regularly? Not KC or Cleveland.

I still miss Stan. Him and Guy Junker were such a formative part of my sports fan experience.
The Stan Savran-led post-game shows were some of the best sports talk radio imaginable. Just absolutely incredible. Stan ruled.
I miss the Steelers post game shows where Stan would just have enough about 35 minutes in and lay into a caller to ask their question or just shut down the stupid premise of whatever thing they were trying to say.
