Deponia (2012): Very off-color point-and-click adventure game. Started out a little funny but I left off of the second game due to a thoroughly unlikable protagonist, generally mean-spirited dialogue and a persistent thread of animal cruelty played for "humor." Haven't gone back to it since.

Castle Crashers (2008) Replayed with the new Paint Boss DLC. Classic button-mashing beat em up gameplay and off-kilter character design and humor. Still pretty fun to play in single-player. It was neat getting to put my OC in the game and play as her! Solid recommend.

Metroid Fusion (2002): Replay. I remember enjoying this one less the first time I played it, but I think it holds up pretty well now. Easily one of the best GBA games, and the Metroid with the most oppressive and creepy atmosphere. The dynamic between Samus and her AI guide adds a lot to the game.

Metroid: Zero Mission (2004): Replay. Easily my least favorite of any Metroid. Except Federation Force, I guess. The one with the most fiddly movement puzzles to reach expansions, which is the part of the series I'm glad didn't really make the jump to the Primes. Just generally awkward to play.

Metroid Prime (2002): Replayed with Primehack. Not my personal favorite, but unquestionably a very good game. The one with the most in common with the early Metroids. Still not a fan of the artifact hunt. The game that demonstrated that Samus was a natural candidate for first-person gameplay.

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (2004): Replayed with Primehack. At the time I played the Wii compilation I called 2 my favorite, but I think 3 holds up better now. 2 Still has some of my favorite atmosphere in the series. It just looks and sounds really cool. The space jump is still awkward as hell though.

Metroid Prime: Hunters (2006): Replay. Still among my favorite DS games, but it obviously doesn't hold up well next to the rest of the Primes. Damage spongy bosses, but solid controls and honestly pretty fun local multiplayer- if you haven't scared everyone off by using Sylux or Trace like I did.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (2007): Replayed with Primehack. My favorite entry in the series after replaying them, but that's by a slim margin. Probably the best game on the Wii. Great controls, great music, great atmosphere. Honestly really liked the presence of speaking NPCs. The model to follow.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (2025): Holy shit did I love playing this. It is SO slick, SO pretty. I bounced up and down in my chair with childish glee on my face when I got the bike. I wish I could talk about the only part that bothered me but spoilers. Just... the sheer gamefeel. Wonderous.

Bounty Star (2025): A hybrid mech/character-action game and farming sim with excellent atmosphere, voicework and mech designs. It grabbed me like few games have in recent years, in my mind it's an affectionate throwback to the vehicle-action games of the '90s. A fine example of a AA game.

Mohrta (2025): Scumhead's most recent game, a GZDoom 3d low-poly FPS with everything you'd expect from his work- Beksinskian creatures, alien landscapes, cool weapons and tight controls. No complaints, sitting here patiently waiting for his next release.

Zexion (2025): Challenging NES-inspired Metroid throwback with extensive accessibility options. I enjoyed its huge map and extremely detailed spritework. Could have been way harder but in no way penalizes you for making it easier. More games should be like that I think.

Predator: Badlands (2025): Also interesting, a perspective flip that stars an outcast Predator (or Yautja, as this one actually uses that name) who learns new ways to survive and thrive. Not as good as Prey, but better then AVP or 2018, I think. Or the Adrien Brody one.

Predator: Killer of Killers (2025): Now this one was interesting. An anthology of animated shorts of warriors from various time periods going up against Predators. I enjoyed the art and animation style, and nods to previous films. Very good voicework as well.
