Spider-Man editorial has repeatedly stated their reasons behind erasing Peter's marriage to Mary Jane and defending them selling a part of their soul to the devil.
And none of it has aged well. Even the "new generation" of readers KNOW something is "off".

I don’t talk Spider-Man much here but All New Venom 6 made it very clear to me that Paul is a creep who emotionally manipulated MJ into a relationship because she needed him to survive. The reason some fans aren’t seeing this is because Marvel has been gaslighting them for years.

He’s the thing; Brevoort is right that if you want Spider-Man married, then STOP BUYING THE BOOK saying he shouldn’t be.

It’s a challenge because Spider-Man sells because he’s SPIDER-MAN. Bad Spider-Man often sells more than better alternatives. 1/4

I can debate someone like Tom Brevoort or Nick Lowe all day. It’s just comics.

But this is important. Sounding the alarm.

Spidey office said recently that they don’t believe fans are as upset by OMD anymore because they don’t get many emails about it.
Let’s fix that:

The problem with paying tribute to all the wonderful female characters in media I love is there's so many of them, and I absolutely hate narrowing it down.

So this is just a small list of the amazing, kickass ladies that make me a happy fan.

I think I have good taste.

With respect to X-Men editor Tom Brevoort, all the information publicly available contradicts much of what he’s saying here.

And back in my day, editors at least pretended to respect the “yahoos” who cared enough to write in and buy their books. This is not limited to Reddit. It’s EVERYWHERE.

I find this to be a fundamentally - simple yet grievously underutilized - principle of life.

Those weak of morals and integrity attack the vulnerable and less fortunate. The strong have an obligation to defend the weak and innocent.

Either we choose goodness, or we are not good.

It's easy to be cynical and negative about 616 Spider-Man comics at times.

Our Spider-Fam Community is here to celebrate the GOOD in comics, the joy these characters bring to our lives, the bright future that awaits, and our role in helping it get there!
Hope to see you soon!
