That’s what I was thinking about, we still got one though. It’s much more fun getting to drag one out of the forest though, especially this year with everyone else out doing the same, quite the cheerful scene.

But if you aren’t local to a USFS site apparently DOI is discounting cutting permits to $1 because Trump’s tariffs are hurting folks.

I’ve always been a cut your own kinda guy so I checked what prices are back east today, well first observation is that a lot of sellers are reportedly sold out, which.. is there a shortage? Anyway, $89.95 +tax (+$5 reservation?!?), jeesh!

Glad we cut our own 8.5 foot spruce for all of $5. 2/..

If Hegseth had made it past Major he might have been let on to the art of not saying shit to the press you don’t want to answer for.

Don’t give them any ideas! God how the extractive phase of capitalism makes the heady days of the early aughts negative revenue scale-maxing seem grand.

Wait whut? Maybe someone has hacked it and you can find a bypass tutorial on GitHub. Our new unit just flags a warning if set above 120°. I think such things should be outlawed because the inevitable consequence is mechanically functional hardware getting tossed because the company goes dark.

Regardless the implication here, if in fact exploitation was conducted, is that we know more about the WHO & WHAT of that boat than publicly acknowledged. The facts of that exploitation should be of particular interest in fulfilling congress’s oversight responsibilities. DE = how did our bombs do?

If that’s gibberish to you: site exploitation is the art and science of extracting intelligence from a target whether it be biometrics or digital forensics for processing off site generally. Sometimes it means positively ID’ing a body on site, Bin Laden for example, grabbing floaters in this case.

In fairness to myself it was a bit more complicated than a clean swap going from a pure electric to a heat pump system. I built a rubber isolated vibration mount, added a check valve and expansion tank that were missing and had to run ductwork to pull warmer air from an adjacent space.

Truly it does and with a flair for drama. You’re driving through a dark dense forest then suddenly a grand vista opens up for a brief period before a river of cloud flows over a pass and socks you in. The clouds that seem to well up from the forest are my favorite.

I unfortunately missed the renewal deadline for my HAM license because APRS reaches 75-80 miles out here at 2.5w through a measly whip antenna. Then you can igate to sms reliably w/in two hops.

Haha, I’m so happy for you. I hope this sparked joy on your anniversary of life.

It’s my first Thanksgiving under a corrupt, authoritarian government.

I know something about this since I used to commute through the data center Mecca of Louden Co. He means data centers while saying it’s also coal plants and people who build data centers. There’s nothing so charming as mile after mile of nameless formless boxes under power lines and sprawl.
