‘That Was Really Quite A Car.’ GM President Admits Canceling The EV1 Was A Bad Idea - The Autopian
General Motors president Mark Reuss went on a podcast and admitted killing the EV1 was a mistake. He's got a point.

I just asked an AI what the estimated profits were that the Fortune 1000 companies made in 2023. It's around 25 trillion. Annual budgets in 2023 for:
USAID: $71.9 billion
Medicare: $848.2 billion
Education: $268.4 billion
Together, that is about 4.75% of the Fortune 1000 profits.
Think about that!

The new ICE song by Jesse Welles nails it.

ICE isn’t recruiting heroes, it’s recruiting the bitter, the rejected, the ones desperate for a badge to cover their failures.

Losers with power become the most dangerous kind.

They're called public records for a reason. Starting today, WIRED will *stop paywalling* articles that are primarily based on public records obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, becoming the first publication to partner with

@support.bsky.team I have had it with Bluesky. Someone replies to my post. I get a notification. I see their reply. But there's no way to see the original post so I have no idea what they are replying to, let alone what I should answer. What am I missing here???

@bsky.app I use a VPN but when I connect to Bluesky I don't see any media that is embedded in the posts. Without VPN all works correctly. Can this be fixed?

NATO boss Rutte has said that Trump remains committed to NATO. Because Trump told him so.....

Guess Rutte never heard this one:
'Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.'

The car industry got fair warning to clean up their act and start building affordable and desirable EVs. Instead they dragged their feet and went for the quick win to line their shareholders' pockets. And now this. Don't CEOs and politicians have children?
EU seeks to grant automakers 'breathing space' on CO2 emission targets
The European Commission yielded to pressure from European automakers on Monday by giving them three years, rather than only one, to meet new CO2 emission targets for their cars and vans.

@bsky.app sometimes when performing a search I come across an interesting post that is a reply in another thread. I then want to read that thread but I cannot find a way to access it from the post I found. Am I dumb?

Tesla has applied for a permit to start a ride hailing Service.
With human drivers.
In California.

So no self-driving cars in a state that will probably collectively flip the bird to Musk. I guess he's a glutton for punishment these days.

So the NHTSA has given the CyberTruck a 5-star rating. electrek.co/2025/02/19/t...

I guess that's the difference between the US and Europe. In the US you get 5 stars if you protect the owner. In Europe you get 5 stars if you protect the owner as well as cyclists and pedestrians.
