We’ve been discussing how to make sure we’re taking care of his mom. If there’s one thing to come out of this, it’s the reminder that I love her so much—she really is my 2nd mom—and I want to spend more time w/ her. She cut my umbilical cord and did so much to shape me into who I am since then.

It’s been a few days since Andi and I spoke at Sawyer’s celebration of life. It was really, really special—as off-beat and delightfully weird as he was. Our mom (who’s a t-shirt screenprinter) recreated our Disneyland shirts for the event, and those shirts are now one of my favorite things ever.

Khalil’s arrest is an egregious violation of his Constitutional rights with chilling effects for free speech, but far too many are unwilling to speak up on his behalf. I seem to recall a certain poem that warned us how dangerous such silence is.
