Happy (just over) one year anniversary to my current writing project, nicknamed Scribe, a destroying-the-empire-style prequel series to the existing fantasy novel I'm querying.

also me: but if i have a fantasy story i should make up a magic system

Breakfast consisted of sautéed garlic, hashbrowns, and sungold tomatoes (that all came from my garden), plus fried eggs from my chickens. Living that cottage core life I guess!

Stopped by a local pond with the pups - there was some ice but as soon as Ghost the greyhound saw open water along the shore she walked right in while Story the smooth collie lost her mind (she thinks Ghost is performing a harrowing magic trick and not just looking for mud to wallow in)

Puzzle update: Ghost the greyhound (and probably also Story the smooth collie) seem to have eaten...a LOT of puzzle pieces over the course of winter - I hadn't realized just HOW MANY until I laid out the remainder and...🤦

Today's writing session involved less writing and more sketching the details of the inner workings of this spaceship because I can't just chuck my protagonist into the void, I guess (at least not yet) #amwriting
