There is a story that Alberto Morrocco's wife Vera, seen here at the breakfast table in the 1950s, was constantly searching for missing bowls, plates and jugs that had been commandeered for a still life, what her husband called a more important purpose than originally intended.

Alasdair Gray clearly had an affinity with cats. Here are two of his cats on the wall of Òran Mór, Glasgow, one with a rat, one with a bird, part of his 2007 mural scheme. #Caturday

After WW2, John Nash settled at Bottengoms Farm at Wormingford, Essex, a secluded village in the Stour Valley - John Constable walked past the house many times going to see his uncles and aunts, often sketching all the way. This work from 1954 shows the barn opposite the house.

Happy Wednesday!
Friends! You don’t often see a Cat and a Dog behaving like this and it makes me so proud of Baby Dog. He’s such a patient and kind boy. Cleo is taking the Back Leg Game to a whole new level - she loves her Baby Dog very much 🩷🩷 *Please share* #CatsAndDogs

Donetsk, Ukraine, is facing increasing attacks. Nina and her family fled their home and are now at a transit hub in Stepove. At the hub, WCK’s #ChefsForUkraine teams are serving meals. Nina said her family enjoys each meal - no matter what is going on, a good meal is a chance to reconnect.

Friends! It’s #GotchaDayForTheTriplets
so we thought we’d share the first video of them with Baby Dog trying to play/look after them. This is where their relationship began… a whole year ago! We’ll post several things today, including a brand new photo of the Triplets together!

Alfred Munnings's work is of Langham Mill in Dedham on the border of Essex and Suffolk. This 'Arcadia,' as he put it, was painted in 1926. Thee London and South Essex Water Board later built a pumping station here. Munnings wrote: 'Constable's age has gone, ours is here.'

'The Skylark.' Between 1812 and 1813, John Constable painted several variants of this view of the Stour valley, looking from Langham in Essex towards Dedham - detail has been replaced with form and mood; the tower of Dedham Church is in the distance.
