Right before Christmas I purchased a Pin-stripe Calathea, and the coolest thing about it is it looks like someone hand painted its leaves with a thin liner brush and some pink gouache paint.

Rough draft … I’m pretty close here, but there’s a few things to do yet. I want to clean up the tree branches, add more color, and warm up the sunlit snow. Not too much fussing around – it’s so easy to overwork a painting and kill the energy. #art #painting
