The Industry opera company in Los Angeles performed an opera based on this book in the train hub Union Station years ago and it was absolutely magical!! I'll never forget this opera. (And I've never read the book.)

We are observing the decline into dementia, stage after stage, in real time.

I think it is very brave of T.'s family and political party to allow him to sink into full dementia in front of all America, so we all can see the stages of dementia's development.

Curious that this is in a post now. In the post on my Tucson blog for tomorrow I recommend reading Heart of Darkness. And in a calendar for 2026 I created a birthday cake for Conrad. It would be his 168th birthday on Dec. 3rd. Here is the image from the calendar which is on Lulu.
