Many of us here have laptops and maybe desktops and home wifi/internet, but for people who don't, libraries provide access, which is so important, so please support your local library.

Part 2 Yesterday, Tuesday, December 2nd, there was a report that Amazon had pulled out of Project Blue and that Beale was looking to Meta as a replacement. FWIW, Amazon was never officially "in". This post was written prior to that announcement and I have made a change, marked in yellow. If you discovered by looking at the data center map…

Part 1 This is a multi-part post. More coming in Part 2. After hearing that greater Phoenix has the largest number of data centers of any city on the entire planet, I began a wider search online for data centers in Arizona. That's when I discovered that 9 data centers already exist here Pima County, specifically in Tucson. They range in size from a tiny 1,000 square feet (sounds like some company's outsized storage closet) to over 280,000 square feet.

Energy transitions can happen faster than we think:

In 2000 almost 90% of Denmark's electricity was from fossil fuels.

In 2024 less than 10% of Danish electricity was from fossil fuels.

A library is every reader's BFF. Free books and authors earn money. Perfect combination.
I am not going to dive into the back and forth on piracy. I have a side, you can guess what it is.

But I will say one thing: if you get the books from your library, you're still not paying for it and the author does get compensated.

I take on average 10,000 stills and a half hour of video every week. Most I'll never think about again. This I'll hold onto until I grow old. 4 hours ago.

Zero edits. No recoloring. No cropping. Nothing. Just straight up reality. 🦑
