It's not a pre-judgement to say these things. It is a judgment based upon centuries of experience. The Framers didn't want a king governing their politics, nor a pope governing their religion, similar ideas actually. Freedom of conscience. Our minds belong to us.

Constantine is when it really took off. Now in addition, we have Protestants bowing the knee with the economic interest of wealthy capitalists. It is the perfect soup for tyranny.

That 1 or 2 such "justices" might be on our Supreme Court isn't surprising, by all 6 right-wingers were catechized in the Catholic church. Great slabs of the public are left out. Never have been friends of "We the People" governments, republics. Has favored autocrats since the days of the caesars.
