Late last year, the Trump administration charged multiple pro-Palestinian activists with violating FACE.

Technically, FACE can also be used to protect houses of worship. But this was the first time the federal government had ever used it that way.

When Trump won, his administration said it would largely stop enforcing FACE against anti-abortion activists. He pardoned several activists who’d been convicted under it.
