The guy who plays Saul Enderby is especially talented at making the character absolutely odious. It's galling that he will reap all the rewards for Smiley's work. Moreso than in the book.

Finished the Smiley's People BBC series.
Sparse and real. The limitations of a 1980's TV show keep everything very grounded. Acting is top notch. Alec Guinness is of course great, but so is everyone.

Watched Dr. No and From Russia With Love. Both pretty great. FRWL is especially fun. Red Grant and Klebb are excellent villains and there isn't a volcano lair in sight. Great fight on the train.
Of course, it's more misogynistic than seems possible.
