Another #MISP publication! Our Marine Invasive Species Program staff, in collaboration with colleagues from the University of Maryland and the New Zealand EPA, coauthored a scientific paper on debris capture for in-water cleaning of vessel biofouling. www.frontiersin.org/journals/mar....

This month marked the conclusion of the largest single-site vessel removal in @castatelands.bsky.social history — a major step to restore the Delta, reduce environmental risk & safeguard one of California’s most vital ecosystems 🌊

We removed another abandoned commercial vessel from the Delta, a 52-ton tugboat called Bosco Baby, bringing our total to 23. We look forward to continuing this work to make the Delta safer and protect this beautiful waterway.

We just concluded the largest single-site commercial abandoned vessel abatement & site restoration in the Commission's history! We removed nearly 1,000 tons of debris & over 1,000 gallons of previously unknown diesel fuel from the largest crane barge. bit.ly/43KYhVa
