I probably don't have many local contacts on here, but anyway... this is the concert I'm giving in aid of the Milton Keynes Cancer Centre on 4th October at Stantonbury Theatre with the fabulous Charlie Lovell-Jones. The Filgrastim Philharmonia is named after a chemo drug. Details in the alt text.

Me too - this is a week ago.

The remedy is to plant them really deep when you pot them on or plant them out. They grow extra roots on the lower stem.

Unfortunate headline clash on the Times website just now. 😆

My doc recently recommended I start taking B12, so I bought this. 400 times the daily requirement, but saying it should be taken daily. I have questions:
1. WHYYYYY so much?
2. If you take 1 pill, do you absorb it all?
3. If you take it less often, do you still get what you need?

Charity shop booty.

It's the restored full version by Powell and Pressburger. Irritatingly the blurb doesn't even mention the great Mary Webb, on whose wild and bizarre book the film was based.

Just bought a book: Unfortunately, she was a nymphomaniac by Joan Smith.

I heard her talking about it on BBC R4 Women's Hour: www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/... & then went to my local bookshop and ordered it.

If you are in the UK & do not have a local bookshop, try here: www.hive.co.uk/Product/Joan...

Minimalist, but hopefully elegant and certainly tasty.

White Dapperling mushrooms, which have popped up in the community polytunnel. Never heard of or seen these before. Very beautiful but not edible.

Our Allotment Association is entering the local Christmas Tree Festival so I got my crochet hook out. Tomatoes today - maybe sprots tomorrow?

I'm on the lottie now - it's lovely. Here's a dahlia from someone else's plot (I don't grow flowers except for French marigolds).

No kittens available, but Bruno is very relaxed about your ability to do this thing.

Good afternoon and Happy Apple Day!

(I have no idea whether it's actually the official apple day today or not, but we havebeen having a party on our Community Allotment with a bake off, apple-pressing and juice tasting, some activitiesfor the children and lots of high quality socialising.)
