Thanks so much @seascotland.bsky.social for giving me a chance to talk about my love of the ocean and how we should be looking after our local marine spaces! 🌊

Councillor Sanne Dijkstra-Downie from Liberal Democrats highlights they want science led and supported by coastal communities. They have to have a stake and a say in what happens - government should work with and not against communities empowering them to be stewards of their own marine environment.

Our new beach clean report is out and the UK has a plastic pollution problem!

Last year a whopping 15,000 of you helped us pick up and record over 3/4s of a million pieces of litter off our coastline 🙌

Take a look at the report to find out more👇

Last year 97% of UK beaches we surveyed were polluted with bottles and cans, posing threat to marine life like seabirds and seals

Deposit Return Scheme Regulations for England & Northern Ireland just passed in Westminster!

With 97% of beaches surveyed by @mcsuk.bsky.social volunteers in 2023 polluted with bottles & cans we're delighted in this vital step towards Deposit Return Schemes starting across the UK by October 2027.
