Tech and industrialization have environmental consequences, but it's not being addressed nearly enough just how much more socially and environmentally destructive AI is. Normal people don't want this shit, it's all just so a bunch of jerkoffs chasing the next big boom can get even richer. I hate it.

I can't help wondering how many data centers like this are also located near areas where fracking is going on, and how that combination is impacting water supplies and the overall bioregion long-term. Either one is terrible enough on their own, but I'm gonna guess decades of damage.

The Second International and German Revolution also can't be discounted, with anarchists also cut out of the conversation, that left a massive open door for fascism. I grew up here, left a couple times when I was younger, and I'm staying put. I could also see myself somewhere in WA, but the PNW in general is where I belong. When I travel other places, even the smell and ambience feels off somehow.

I do think it's likely this a combo of PR and territorial pissing, considering how many people fucking hate them, but it definitely beats getting fucked up by them on top of the rest.
