If you want to support indie bookstores with online orders, here are some alternatives to the megastores:

Libro.fm 🔸 instead of Audible
Bookshop.org 🔸 instead of Amazon or B&N*

* both of which had sales this week to undercut #IndieBookstoreDay, if you need some fiery motivation to shop elsewhere
Buy audiobooks & support local bookstores
Libro.fm makes it possible for you to buy audiobooks directly through local bookstores.

@chrislhayes.bsky.social: Ever wonder why you don't usually see CEOs running around spewing right-wing conspiracy theories, insulting foreign ministers, and doing salutes that for all the world look like Sieg Heils? Because it’s not great for business.

I am a David Brooks fan. He speaks and writes of society and community often. This video is worth a listen.

Despite what Elon Musk says—Social Security is NOT a Ponzi Scheme.

Social Security is a PROMISE that the American people should be able to count on after paying into it their entire lives. Repost if you agree.

This is Marco Rubio explaining how the USA promised to defend Ukraine forever if they got rid of their nuclear arsenal left after the Soviet Union fell.

This is why lil marco was sinking into the couch. He was hoping we wouldn’t find it…so don’t RT right now this very second.

Within the span of 90 minutes on Tuesday morning, two airplanes, at Washington’s Ronald Reagan National Airport and at Chicago’s Midway International Airport, were forced to abort landings to avoid collisions, federal aviation officials said.
Two Planes, in Washington and Chicago, Abort Landings to Avoid Collisions
The near misses on Tuesday came after a string of aviation disasters, including the midair collision between an Army helicopter and a passenger jet last month that killed 67 people.
