When I started attending conferences, I had the idea that speakers should dress formally-otherwise you’d be disrespecting Science, other speakers, and the audience, and (horror!) you’d be seen as frivolous and decadent.
Almost 40 years later… shorts and espadrilles. Young me would’ve been ashamed!
