Democrats will win back the House in 2026 on the strength of one powerful message: affordability.

The 2025 elections — the pre-midterms — were a resounding rejection of Donald Trump’s failing presidency, which has crippled working families and small businesses with ever-higher costs.

THE CRUELTY IS THE POINT.

That feeling when:

👎 Corporate job cuts surging past 1 million so far this year, with 153,000 new layoffs just in October

👎 10% reduction in flights over the course of the next week.

👎 Living through the longest government shutdown in U.S. history.

Well, Donald Trump and the Republicans DID succeed at SOMETHING.

Americans are tired of division and eager to unite for progress. Republicans need to end their shutdown!

Voters in California have passed Prop 50, locking in a new congressional map for the next several years. The measure reshapes district boundaries and will impact representation across the state until 2030!

The Trump administration has killed IRS Direct File, the program that let you file your taxes for free. Direct File will not be operational this coming tax season.

Zohran Mamdani was just elected as mayor of New York City.

NYC just saw its LARGEST mayoral election turnout in over 50 years!

THIS is the power of youth engagement and civic participation in action.

NEW: Two federal judges rule the Trump administration must tap into billions in emergency funds to at least partially cover food stamp benefits in November.

Tragic that courts must force the President to use designated funds to feed hungry children and vulnerable families.

Trump and Republicans just passed a tax cut that will gift $100B annually to the richest 1%.

$100B could fund SNAP for a year.

It's not a matter of what this country can or can't afford. It's about priorities.

People are starting to understand this.
Brooke Rollins: "I guess the silver lining in all of this is that we're having a national conversation on our SNAP program. This has shined a light on a program that especially under the last administration has just become so bloated."

NOW MIND YOU…SNAP benefits have NEVER covered beauty treatments or salon services!

We love a good receipt: www.fns.usda.gov/snap/eligibl...

The only scary thing this Halloween should be costumes, not 42 million Americans losing food assistance. Republicans need to stop the “tricks”, end their shutdown, and do their jobs.

Donald Trump and House Republicans are attacking democracy itself -- scheming to rig the midterms because they know the American people reject a system that fattens billionaires pockets while families drown under the costs of healthcare, housing and groceries.

Republicans control the White House, the House, and the Senate.

This shutdown belongs to them! #RepublicanRipoff

Unacceptable.

Groceries are still expensive. Rent is up. Benefits that help families put food on the table are about to get slashed.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump is constructing a massive ballroom. Republicans are at brunch.

This is ridiculous, and everyday Americans are the ones getting screwed.
October 23, 2025 at 6:37 PM
As the government shutdown continues, federal workers struggle and SNAP benefits face cuts while healthcare costs rise. Yet this administration found $250M for a ballroom and Donald Trump thinks this country owes him 230M. Where are the priorities?

Q: We've heard things like Dems want money for civic engagement in Zimbabwe, millions for LGBTQ grants in Balkans. You say this is about healthcare but how do these pet projects fit in?

JEFFRIES: We have no idea what you're talking about or what Republican extremist fed you those talking points

Federal workers are at food banks while working without pay. This is unacceptable.

Republicans: End this shutdown now. Reopen the government. Pay these workers. No political dispute justifies forcing Americans to choose between bills and groceries.

Reopen the government today.

Rep. LaMonica McIver's case is precedent-setting and will shape the future of our democracy. Her motion to dismiss the charges based on the fact that she was there to do her job can have a ripple effect for legislative immunity and congressional protections moving forward.

Oral arguments have begun in the Trump administration’s case against Rep. LaMonica McIver. Rep. McIver was conducting congressional oversight at an ICE facility when baseless criminal charges were brought against her for DOING HER JOB.

We stand with LaMonica.
