The kid has had a few years of group routines that at least leaned toward scoring well(but still didn't throw random acro moves into dances) and solos that challenged the judges. It's awesome when judges who score her low still give massive praise

I'm also the snobby dance dad who rolls his eyes at comp performances that sacrifice beauty for points, so 🤷♂️

going to wait to watch it with my wife tonight. I'm hopeful because I did find a few of the rhythm performances at least entertaining even if the choreo was just ok

I'm torn by having a kid who is a serious dancer and having two friends whose kids have been serious about figure skating - I can see the skill in ice dancing but can't help but seeing it as "what if you couldn't do either half well"
