I wish to be mean to anyone who says that
I do not wish to be mean, but if I hear you in the year 2026 claiming that Elon Musk "saved free speech" from "leftist censors" I am going to question your judgment on pretty much everything else, because you do not live in reality.

Sorry, but not recognizing the role of humor in this sort of situation doesn’t make me think you’re taking the matter seriously at all
You can joke about Pam Bondi’s ridiculous unprofessionalism all you want, but I’m deeply shocked by it: She acts as if she fears absolutely no consequences, convinced that there will be no more political power transfers. — This should shake everyone to their core.

The current argument over the BLS numbers is a good reminder that nobody should follow Mueller She Wrote

Bluesky in a nutshell.

Some context: BLS released its jobs numbers today, which were better than expected, and resistance libs would rather stay mad/conspiratorial than listen to actual on-the-ground experts that the data is still reliable.

Among other issues, this shows a massive lack of self awareness. Some of us know and can accept that we are bad writers.
Unless I missed an earlier one, it looks like we got Emil Bove's first published majority opinion last week. Judge for yourself. www2.ca3.uscourts.gov/opinarch/251...

Going to test the limits of how many drafts we can have
v1.116 is rolling out now!

For all the overthinkers and perfectionists out there, we're launching Drafts.

One big challenge is learning the language to use with each client. I have one business client where I have to phrase things differently depending on which partner I'm talking to, which makes it complicated when I'm talking to them together
Job of a lawyer is to tell you what the risks of various options are.

It's up to you to decide how much risk you're willing to take on
The job of a lawyer is generally to tell you what the safest option is, and that’s not always the best option.

Worth noting that Johnson comes from an anti-catholic tradition but is too much of a coward to take that stance. He loathes the pope but won't say so because Trump castrated him
Given that he's Baptist, it would not surprise me if he's been fed the anti Catholic rhetoric. So what he does know is likely wrong and very skewd.

Speaker Johnson suggests the Bible clearly mandates strict border enforcement. His certainty is unwarranted. Across Christian traditions, scripture and church history urge caution when applying biblical texts to modern state power.
Speaking on behalf of a religion that actively sought to spread itself to every country in the world whether invited or not, Speaker Johnson would like to share with you the Biblical case for strong borders.

Soave definitely has a file on his computer that lists the age of consent in ever state and country

And someone definitely has documentation of Soave trying to fuck 14 year olds

"Counting votes is fraud"

I can't decide if he's actually stupid enough to believe this
Mike Johnson on Trump calling for Rs to "nationalize" elections: "We had 3 Republicans who were ahead on election day in last cycle & every time a new tranche of ballots came in they just magically whittled away until their leads were lost. It looks on its face to be fraudulent. Can I prove it? No"

First off, there is no such thing as “Judeo-Christian.” That’s a bullshit term evangelical Christians use to pretend they’re not in an antisemitic death cult.

This is a guy who is incredibly mad that I have a 17 year old daughter who he can't fuck
Such libs are annoying and dangerous, to be sure, but they're also just like not capable of being persuaded without spending years on the ground. Like there is a kind of hilarity in seeing people try to explain different facets of activism 101 to Stancil, dumping context. Like he's not gonna get it.

Just to be clear a bit

there was never any chance I was headed down the path to being a DA or an AUSA. It was never going to be what I did under *any* administration.

But I have respect for my classmates who went that route
There are a lot of people demanding Ms Le quit who are putting no money on the line. These are little men who would not pamphlet a Walmart, let alone bomb one

I noped out of a job that paid me reasonably well, into a market that doesn't necessarily like second career attorneys. I can speak from experience as someone who has lost well over $100k to choosing not to do a job that was problematic- it's rough, and anyone who pretends it isn't can fuck off

Someone needs to help Ms Le. That's someone who needs the paycheck but is about to break
I have confirmed the gist of this report out of federal court in Minnesota today from a source familiar.

ICE tear gassed a bunch of children on Saturday. This was a massive escalation of force. They were shooting tear gas at the back of the crowd, it took these unmasked people maybe 3-5 minutes in the cloud of tear gas to escape in without trampling. www.theverge.com/policy/87278...
