Just a mildly entertaining sequence of skeets from the middle of the end of that baseball game :)

I am wallowing in some despair today, but I did make some muffins and turn them into mummies, so

Gorgeous. Here is my poorly lit soup.

It was well into midnight when I finished this project (this stuff cooked for THIRTEEN HOURS in the crockpot), but I am here this morning to tell you that the apple butter is PERFECT and I regret NOTHING.
Recipe is from Food In Jars: foodinjars.com/recipe/spice...

Successfully purchased two options for 15 to wear to Homecoming (which is TONIGHT and this kid is very ambivalent about dressing up). Will be spending some time on lightning-speed alterations this afternoon (waistline facing needs to be tacked down, probably by hand, glitter everywhere) wheee

PS I would characterize both Mills and Peter Buck as somewhat chill, as bass players go

This is a not-great picture of Mike Mills, but that certainly was a kickass show (and he certainly did swing his bass over my head). Baseball Project is a fun band :)

Just finished THE SPACE BETWEEN HERE AND NOW, a sweet and subtle coming-of-age story featuring a bicultural teen girl who experiences unpredictable leaps in time to her own memories. I loved the complex characters and the descriptions of Korean food! Just a hint of a first-crush plot here too.

I asked this on Reddit already and am waiting for replies, but here is a #sewing question. The pictured garment is a muslin for a Chalk & Notch Fringe dress. Bodice fits mostly fine (armhole too small), but it’s really difficult to escape from this top and I don’t know why.
Do you know why? Halp.

Until the very minute that four pounds of beets turned into 3.5 pints of pickles, I thought for sure I’d be drowning in brined beets without enough sterilized jars.

Really pondering my relationship with Njne Inch Nails over the years tonight. 🧐

I hemmed three inches off these pants and they seem to be exactly the same amount of too long as they were before. Short girl problems.

I made this at work today (open build program). Please note that there are TWO kinds of rotation, like the teacups ride 😄

I like to cook a big batch of chicken in the crockpot & portion it out. Nachos, sammiches, inauthentic tortilla soup (w/chicken broth, enchilada sauce, tomatoes, whatever vegs are on hand, nice to frizzle up an onion at the start).
Someone linked to a Budget Bytes recipe & I really like that site.

Looking again at your photo: since your zipper is full-length, you wouldn’t need those snaps. Now I’m not sure. 🧐
Found a couple online where the snaps look decorative (see below) ; possibly a functional snap to keep the interior (left) lapel lying flat?

Two sewing tasks, both not especially fun:
A) Work on a muslin (practice garment for fitting purposes) for a dress that I have been thinking about for MONTHS, or
B) hem the lightweight rayon pants (chambray blue but not pictured) that I could in theory wear to work tomorrow?

Your thoughts?

Man alive. Sprained an ankle today, took myself to the doctor bc I *often* turn that ankle and it doesn’t usually *hurt* when I do.
Sprains aren’t serious and I grew up in a DRAMATICALLY wait-and-see household, so I feel a little silly about seeing a doc. But this boot? My new favorite thing.

Woke up too dang early this morning. Have managed a sweltering parade, 2x mildly illegal parking, replaced our upstairs air conditioner (!!! It is AMAZING), watched JAWS, and 2.5 loads of laundry. Am minding the chairs while fam pursues cheese curds, and it’s been a pretty, pretty nice day. :)

A question for the gardening people: PictureThis says I have wild four o’clocks, and that they are fine.
I did not plant them, they are definitely volunteers if not weeds.

Should I rip them out?

ZOMG this is an amazing decision (slightly oversalted the beet greens, but they’re perfectly tender)
