#Netrunner is so good y'all. Had a fantastic time playing 8 rounds today at the Birmingham District Championship. Shout out to vendors Ams and @thetagmill.bsky.social for some sweet alt arts!

Received my mystery box of games from Fall Tokyo Game Market via @travelgames.bsky.social - initial box opening impressions of what caught my eye - Dualis is a team trick-tacking from Trickarus designer, and Wizards Showdown is realtime bidding game from designer of Yro #boardgames

Tonight we played Curse of the Dark, an escape room game. Had an interesting variety of puzzles, overall puzzle logic was satisfying - we only found ourselves using 1 hint. You get to assemble a map of the castle with some 3D elements, such as this stained glass window, as you explore. #boardgames

We had a lot of fun with Cuzco last night. I love a game where you end up with a unique physical artifact after you've finished. It felt like the amount of options increased as you played. A highly interactive and quite punishing game, maybe runs a little long due to analysis paralysis #boardgames

Got some exciting games to the table. Tax the Rich by @kostby.bsky.social - thematic trick-taking with dynamic teams, plenty of gotcha moments too. Adulting by @ericdittmore.bsky.social - multi-victor semi-coop deck building, which was a really collaborative experience in our first game #boardgames

For #CraftWednesday I'm continuing to work on a print and play copy of Adulting. My first time making custom cards without resorting to thin paper proxies on top of unwanted common magic cards. Learning a lot about the process!

I started working on this today, about a quarter of the way through. But happy with how I've got it looking so far 😁

Recent highlights #boardgames -
Pulsar 2849, fighting over the stars and tech patents. Get On Board: New York & London, plan a bus route and avoid traffic. Hibachi: Fired Up, dexterity game of wheeling and dealing ingredients. A Wild Venture, assemble and disassemble card combos as you adventure.

Christmas with friends (friendmas?) means time for boardgames - we made it through 6 chapters of The Lord of The Rings The Fellowship of the Ring Trick-Taking Game and now we're playing couch co-op @sunderfolk.com #boardgames

A light game night with friends. The tiles in Llamaland are the best kind of awkwardly shaped, forcing awkward placement. The bids in Cat Blues need to be balanced with what cards you are spending vs what you gain. Both will make you gripe and moan, in the way a good game does #boardgame

Looking forward to getting stuck into Herd from @letibus.bsky.social - may have already snuck a few pages in... #boardgames

Still in my trick-taking sicko phase. Enjoying Tricky Landing - a hilarious dexterity trick taking hybrid from @huffnomore.bsky.social and Chasing Shadows from @vawcer.bsky.social - twisty trick avoidance and clever opportunities to erase past scoring #boardgames

Experienced what can only be described as a transcendent night of queer trans joy - seeing Kae Tempest live tonight in Manchester

Had a great time at Hamish Con yesterday. I joined a Jubensha session with Suspense Studio, and really enjoyed the semi-cooperative deduction. Also played - Homalet, Joraku, Faraway, TRND, Lunar Trick, Genchari Bancho and Nokosu Dice. And of course, I bought some new #boardgames

Incredible scenes at Hamish Con (hosted by @travelgames.bsky.social) featuring a game using "the bit of a pen clicker that pops out" as a launch mechanism for a dexterity game (Genchari Bancho) #boardgames

Time for more Old King's Crown! This game is pretty wild, I'm happy my group is committing to getting stuck into regular games, I really want to dig into these systems. First game with The Gathering involved, and wow they have some wild cards #boardgames

First game of The Old King's Crown! Took a few rounds to really start to grasp the systems at play here, so very excited to play again tomorrow. Between the kingdom cards, faction cards and tactics... there are a lot of opportunities for interesting interactions and shenanigans. #boardgames

Feeling somewhat indulgent. Wrapped up in a blanket, with a hot chocolate and staying up later than normal because I just absolutely had to get to the end of a good book... been a while since something got its hooks in me like Scarlet Morning has.

Got some great #boardgames to the table this week. My friends favourite game is Arcs, and I'm always happy to encourage that addiction. We also busted out one of my partners favourites, Clans of Caledonia, and some new members at our local club introduced me to Moon Colony Bloodbath.

Back home from #NetrunnerWorlds25 after a great weekend. Picked up more than a few incredible alt art cards from the artist colony, including the unexpected crossover of Netrunner with one of my favourite #boardgames, Arcs!

Had a really fun day at ACWest. Met up with @gingerbeardgeekdad.bsky.social and other friends. Played Heat, Arcs, Magical Athlete, Out of Sorts, The Gang and Nokosu Dice.

As ever, got to play a bunch of great games, but also a fantastic bunch of folks to play those games with #boardgames

Suffering the consequences of my own actions... currently stuck in the worst standoff for Outage Spreads in @leder.games's Arcs #boardgames
September 25, 2025 at 7:55 PM
Egizia: Shifting Sands and Botanicus tonight! Both feature one-way action selection tracks. Egizia asks, can you squeeze more actions in before that spot is taken? Botanicus is tactical, maybe you take a worse action now to go first next? Expect groans when players are pipped to actions #boardgames

Enjoying a full day of #Netrunner playtesting with @sarazaraki.bsky.social ahead of Worlds in Edinburgh next month

I've been enjoying Trickadee, which has trick-taking but also set collection - losing tricks gets you seeds to spend on abilities that help you build your flocks or manipulate your hand. Had some fun moments like when a player used an ability to bounce a trump card back to their hand to re-use.
