worried about people pushing back/asking questions you don't feel capable/equipped to deal with? just say that you spend time around vulnerable people who can't afford to take the risk, whether you think it's true or not! not a single person has ever pushed me on this, they'll take your word for it

nervous about wearing a mask because of social reasons? do it anyways. taking tangible measures to keep yourself and the people around you safe is HOT and COOL and PUNK ROCK. if anyone actively gives you shit for it it's cause they're either insecure, a cop, or your boss

you can't count on a mask not being necessary because you feel fine or the people around you feel fine. it takes time for the virus to incubate and spread in your system, but you'll become infectious enough to transmit it to others before you start showing symptoms yourself

the phrasing here is like apple sauce for babies but a good reminder that wearing a mask is hands down the most effective way to keep yourself and the people around you safe from both "severe virus season" and the debilitating plague that hasn't actually gone away at any point in the last 5 years
