CCTV footage appears to show DHS agents posing as people having car trouble in order to lure a target out of his house before arresting them. The target comes out and starts helping them before 3 vehicles surround the scene. The car "experiencing" trouble then drives off with them.

We kinda blew past the fact that Stancil was shit talking a dead man saying he shouldn’t have kicked an ICE vehicle
I didn’t realize that the person we saw was him but I had seen a person striking an ICE vehicle and have mentioned it before. Don’t do that! They’ll attack you! But the overwhelming impression of this encounter was massively disproportionate force by ICE, to a truly shocking, jarring degree.

Next to them, everything else is secondary. We learned some key techniques from Chicago and I’m endlessly grateful, but the core of what’s happening here is - an endless succession of neighbors rallying to help neighbors - isn’t really something Minneapolis learned. It’s deeper.

No the “anarchists in bloc” flocking in to fight ICE are very specifically interlopers. Minneapolis is being protected by ordinary neighbors using tactics that they are comfortable with and can learn. That’s why there are tens of thousands of people involved.

Following the police is not “a new model” of direct action. The Black Panthers Party was doing this 60 years ago and they were doing it with guns.
But a lot of people who have spent many years in other kinds of activism - activism that is generally far less effective than our networks have been - seem horrified that Minnesota moms and college students stumbled on a new model. They are rushing to assert themselves as the “true” organizers.

The government cannot really impose any serious burden on you for being one of hundreds of thousands of people peacefully protesting against it. But you can impose a serious burden on yourself, and fellow protesters, by worrying too much.

My understanding is that immigrants in Minneapolis are trying to leave their homes as little as possible. People are helping them pay rent, get groceries, etc. In those circumstances shouldn’t you want to minimize the spread of any illness as much as possible? Especially during flu season?
