In the High North’s extreme environment, uncrewed systems can allow NATO and Arctic allies to enhance domain awareness at a lower cost, and with reduced risks. The P-8A, MQ-9B, and MQ-4C platforms are well-suited to meet this growing need.

Since its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia has intensified modernization of the Northern Fleet. Moscow is heavily investing in uncrewed and robotic systems in the Arctic to offset capability gaps and reinforce conventional forces.
