The open source CLAP (clever audio plug-in) project looks quite interesting. It seems to have moved Steinberg to open source the VST3 SDK with MIT license too.

Can't agree more. I'm honestly not so motivated to open Bluesky because of this.

@tuta.com I have been experiencing sporadic but quite frequent "offline" status for my email in my mobile and laptops over the past few months. Any suggestions for a fix?

Something impossible until recently is now possible. Easily. How far are we gonna go this year?
Can Claude Sonnet 4 write x86 assembly? I ran an experiment today and got Claude plus Claude Code to build, run and debug a pleasing Mandelbrot fractal in assembly, compiled via Docker on my Mac

I'm a big fan of Raspberry Pi. It is a complete Linux machine with easy access to external electronic components through GPIO pins, and yet it's small and reasonably priced. On top of that, it's got great books like this one!

This is Literate Programming. Its importance deserves much more attention.
I think if you're writing a technical book/post/documentation, you have to stick to this principle:

If the code isn't directly loaded from a tested source file, or copy-pasted from one, it doesn't go in the document.

"I just need to make a little edit to the code in the post, it'll be fine"

They are looking for someone who can volunteer to record piano play!
Piano players anywhere: could you volunteer to make a phone recording of two short pieces by trailblazing Edwardian female composer Marguerite Marigold?

I volunteer with Lauriston Castle, and we’d love to let our tour groups hear her music. More details are in the alt text, or DM me — thank you!

If you can navigate team members when they should reinvent the wheel or prioritize other tasks, you may be a good engineering manager.
It's good to reinvent the wheel sometimes!

Great post by Matthias Endler.

It helps understanding how wheels work, how you can fix them when broken, how to make better wheels if really needed, or how to find creative use cases for wheels by thinking outside the box.

Bluesky now insists that users must have a Google account if they want to be “recognized as authentic”. This is a very disappointing move.
We're excited that verification badges have made it easier to quickly recognize authentic accounts, especially in moments of breaking news.

Now, we're expanding our roll-out. Notable and authentic accounts can apply for verification or to become a Trusted Verifier via the form linked in our blog.
