- I could see this being weighted *somewhat* by the presumption that a founding engineering team for a project like this would all be relatively senior

For reference, Bluesky's public release was like a year and a half ago, whereas Automattic has been publicly planning to integrate Tumblr into the Fediverse since 2022.

(It's part of a backend migration to WP, which they put on hold earlier this year.)

Agreed on the number, but I think this is reductive otherwise. ActivityPub at least had some meaningful traction by the time WP jumped in on it.

My personal projects *are* my professional portfolio, which already blurs this -- even in places like my email, where I'm already doing that because I do *have* multiple domains I can use to loosely split these

But it's... a whole new set of considerations I didn't have a few months ago 🤷‍♂️
