One final movie I enjoyed on today's journey was finally watching Devil Wears Prada. Instantly iconic performances by Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway, and while there's large swathes of 2000s culture that were awful I like how this captures them in amber without really reveling in them.

Next airplane movie of choice — Arrival. I generally like Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner and high concept sci fi so I expect to like this.

Had a great time tonight playing @hellomcdm.bsky.social next game, Crows. @jamesintrocaso.bsky.social is really cooking with this game, the power roll fits well into a more dangerous, less heroic fantasy RPG. Excited to see what comes of the travel and town management subsystems!

DS9 S7E7 "civil defense" is a perfect example of a good episode that modern TV simply doesn't do. Self contained, not really trying to do tragic backstory dives, just an interesting thing that happens with stakes and drama for 45 minutes.

Got around to watching "Honey Don't". Gotta say, I actually really liked it but I get why the vast majority did not.

I will say the files clarify why AI is so appealing to the rich and powerful; a machine that can compete with a college sophomore is really impressive to guys who read and write like they're 12!

I have to admit the Trill Biology Facts episodes of DS9 don't really do it for me. The writers are clearly trying, they're a genuinely weird species of alien, but somewhere between the performance and the writing they end up only OK.
