He had hair then! One of Rob Reiner's first TV appearances was in Season 2 of "Batman" in January 1967. He played a guy who delivered a meal to the Penguin.

60 years ago Monday, two NASA space missions -- Gemini 7 and Gemini 6A -- met up in Earth orbit. It was a skill NASA would need for its upcoming moon missions. But that first rendezvous was not easy. Just about everything went wrong at first. My Further Review in today's Spokesman-Review.

I've been doing college bowl preview pages nearly every year since my first one for the Chicago Tribune in 1997. During my consulting years, I'd build the page and then sell them freelance to papers around the country. There were only 21 bowl games back then.

Went to my stepmother's memorial service in Evans, Ga., today. My dad passed away nearly five years ago. But I did get to see my mom and my sister. That's Caroline on the right. And that's Eva Jane on the left, looking younger and more fit than either of us. We need to get together more often.
