Never before, in our entire 250 year history, has the military or immigration agents been used like this. It's dystopian, illegal, and it should stop.

An interesting observation from @donnermaps.bsky.social: Compared to the 2024 primaries in #TN07 (which were both uncontested), Dem turnout increased 38% while GOP turnout increased by a smaller 15%.

Overall, GOP turnout was 36,854, Dem turnout was 31,002.

If this was the general that'd be a 13.7 pt Dem overperformance vs. Trump's margin in TN-07 last year, FWIW.

Indirectly. Several million people losing coverage will mean more unpaid ER visits etc which will mean hospitals will pass that on to employer sponsored insurance.

I have no idea what areas of TN-07 have been counted, but it seems worth noting that total Dem votes are nearly identical to total GOP votes so far.

This was also true the last time the GOP tried to force a shutdown.

I tried to tell people that Elno and DOGE were tools of Russell Vought and the Christian Nationalist movement behind Project 2025, but nobody wanted to hear it.

Almost everyone else seemed to prefer smearing Senator Chuck Schumer.

I'm on the record saying that Russ Vought will do things during the shutdown that will make his illegal rescissions visible in the way they otherwise weren't. And boy howdy, threatening to ignore the law on backpay is a great example. [corrected]

Shaheen, a retiring Dem Rs are looking to flip on shutdown, says of OMB threats on back pay:

“It would be a lot easier to resolve the situation if Russ Vought would stop talking.”

Oregon National Guard Adjutant General, General Gronewold says if they are federalized, that he will advise the Title 10 commander to utilize National Guard Troops to PROTECT protesters at ICE facilities. This is the right answer.
