Initially that was my concern, but there are other incidents of this happening further back, seemingly both in special elections and regular elections. Not that precedent matters to them, but having it could be emboldening.

Historically congress have refused to seat Congresspeople based on allegations of fraud (among other reasons) in voting. Has happened in both regular and special elections, it seems. Is there a change in process to prevent something like this?

Though a few people have replied and said it's not possible, I'm not sure there isn't precedent for justifying this kind of scenario.

I get it, that this is how news works, but we live in a deeply disorganized society when the journalists have to consult 'experts' to determine that someone whose only offense is driving away from ICE at a speed of like 3mph is not a terrorist.
